I have a friend whom borrowed personal loans from 2 different banks during the MCO. He then admitted into the hospitals due to car accident, had major operation and unable to work for one whole year. The banks have been doing back to back calls asking for repayments. He is unable to repay a single penny when he does not has any income source.

He then recently received a letter from the bank saying that the bank will be appointing a collection agency for debts recovery.

Few days later, he received calls from lawyer firm demanding for at least 30k of repayment otherwise he will be declared bankrupt and all bank accounts will be frozen in same day.

I have few questions on behalf
1. Can he still apply for akpk debt management programme in this case?
2. Will he be declared a bankrupt with such statements from lawyer?
3. What can he do to check if this is a real lawyer? He has been receiving threatening calls from this lawyer.

Looking forward to your positive feedbacks.
