I have been renting with a landlord for 1 year. My contract expires on September. The landlord agreed to let me renew and asked me to prepare an agreement and arrange stamping. She was kind enough to reduce the rent by RM50. Due to LHDN and stamping being appointment based only due to COVID, I only managed to get an earliest appointment on 18th of October.
today she contacted me and said she no longer wants to sign a contract and hired an agent to handle this. The rental price also went up by RM50 and plus now i have to pay agents fees 1/2 a month.
Is there any law to protect tenants on this? The new agents is harassing me now asking me to give decision for renewal on the same day. What can I do?
