I have just moved into my newly completed condo. To my horror, I discovered that the developer had seemingly cut corners and delivered defective units to his buyers. Defects such as the following are common: water leak everywhere, water ponding, drain fly infestation, drain traps not functioning, foul smell from toilets, air conditioning problem, noise and vibration problem, etc, etc. The last 2 issues especially worries me because it suggests that there is some underlying (structural?) defects that will manifest itself in the future in bigger problems.
Question: how do we carry out a building inspection as per the Street, Drainage and Building Act 1974?
