I have paid RM2000 as a booking fee to purchase a service apartment. According to the developer, my RM2000 is deposited into their HDA account. Now, I received a VP letter from developer after obtaining the CCC letter. My bank has fully disbursed and developer is asking me to settle the miscellaneous invoice of RM500+ before I am allowed to collect the keys. The miscellaneous invoice consists of 2024 quit rent, assessment, fire insurance, SAJ(water meter deposit & connection fee & Borang I ( Majlis Perbandaran Pasir Gudang). Can't they deduct this miscellaneous invoice from my RM2000.00 in the developer's HDA account? Is it legal that the developer asked me to settle this bill though I have a credit amount with the developer?
