I hired a contractor/designer to renovate my new condo. I signed the quotation, paid the downpayment and he started the work in end of February 2022. About 2 weeks later, he wanted to revise (increase) the price quoted for windows because the cost for glass material has increased. Around the end of March, he wanted to revise (increase) the price quoted for hacking walls because the wall was reinforced and more difficult to hack. The hacking work was already done about a month ago.

As far as I am concerned, this is a breach of contract and I have the right not to pay, correct? So if he insisted, what can I do? Am I protected by the law?
