I was looking for a unit in one condo and finally found one, I wanted to view it first. I contacted the one who posted the listing, and he asked me to pay booking first to reserve the unit before viewing. Is it illegal?

Because we're strangers, it's stupid to pay my money to a stranger before viewing the unit. What if I don't like the unit after viewing and decide not to rent, there is a high risk that he won't refund my booking fee.

I'm a foreigner and I have to say that this is the first time I've talked to such a rude Malaysian guy who always looks down on his customer. Very very bad impression ~~
