My condo unit is finally getting the strata title and now my lawyer ask me to pay the quit rent (RM40) and assessment tax (RM257), but I thought I have been paying that using my maintenance fees every month? Why I need to pay again this time. And the lawyer told me that I will have to pay quit rent (will become parcel rent later) myself after the strata title is issued. What actually is the difference between quit rent and parcel rent?
