My property developer recently issued me a letter regarding perfection of strata title (I took vacant possession of the condo unit from the developer 3 years ago and it is currently leased to a tenant). It is mentioned in the letter that I have a period of 12 months from the date of the letter to have it done otherwise it would be a criminal offence under Malaysian property laws. I currently reside in Hong Kong where getting flight tickets out to KL these days have been very problematic due to the COVID-19 pandemic. I would like some advice regarding options available for me while being abroad. E.g. can I have my lawyer to courier me the necessary documents and I signed them at the Malaysian Embassy and courier the signed documents back to my lawyer? Is there an option where I can assign power of attorney to my brother in KL and for him to sign on my behalf?
