Rental increase? My rental agreement is stated as 2+1 and i am in the year 2, I still do have 1 year more. My current land lord just told me that she is going to increase from RM1000 to RM1400. Se also mentioned that she has the right to do so because she has that option. Well I have to recheck my rental agreement if such a clause is stated in the paper.
Question:
1. 40% increase is too high, min increase?
2. What if the agreement doesn't say anything like increase of house rent but just RM1000 throughout the 2+1, can she still increase or I can challenge with this point and take up legal action (if) or request for compensation to move out or before moving out?
Well the last point, I would negotiate for a 20% increment, to avoid hectic of looking for another house.
Please advice. Thank You
