Wish to clarify the answer given by SY Soh on commission for agent. What do you mean in general? Is there a law on commission paid to agents? You also mentioned depending on value of property, so is there a scale of fees / comm. In the event of a default, why are you claiming half of the deposits which can amount to 5% of the SPA value. So i don't understand how can an agent earn more in the case of a default. If the buyer default, then you claim half of the deposit and after paying my lawyer, banker & valuer, I may end up with nothing. I hate to imagine my liabilities, if I were to default as the seller.
