ACCLAIMED MALAYSIAN CALLIGRAPHY ARTIST JAMESON YAP UNVEILS COMMISSIONED MASTERPIECES FOR CLOUTHAUS RESIDENCES AT EXCLUSIVE EXHIBITION
KUALA LUMPUR, 14 May 2026 – Leading property developer TA Global Berhad hosted an exclusive calligraphy exhibition at the CloutHaus Sales Gallery, featuring renowned Malaysian contemporary artist Jameson Yap. The event unveiled a commissioned series created for CloutHaus Residences, the premier residential component of TA Global’s latest mixed-use development in Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC). The event marked the venue’s first major cultural activation, signalling the residence’s ambition to evolve beyond an ultra-luxury address into a cultural and lifestyle destination.
This initiative signifies the developer’s commitment to supporting local creative talent and positions CloutHaus Residences as a platform for experiencing Malaysian artistry in a refined, modern setting. It reflects the development’s wider vision to curate luxury not only through architecture and hospitality but through meaningful cultural encounters.
The collaboration itself originated from a longstanding connection between Jameson and the Chief Executive Officer of TA Global Berhad, Tiah Joo Kim, built on a shared appreciation for contemporary Asian aesthetics. Known for his distinct “River Stroke” compositions, Jameson has built an international presence through collectors and exhibitions across North America, Europe, and Southeast Asia.
“Jameson Yap’s work reflects a depth of discipline and cultural expression that aligns strongly with the identity of CloutHaus Residences. This collaboration brings together luxury real estate and local creative talent, giving the project a distinctive visual and cultural dimension,” said Tiah. “Jameson is widely recognised for reimagining Chinese calligraphy in contemporary contexts, bridging tradition with modern creativity. For us, CloutHaus Residences goes beyond conventional luxury. As the development takes shape, it is defined by its location, architecture, service standards, and the culture and community it brings together.”
The exhibition’s focal point was a bespoke collection of four artworks created for the project. Currently displayed at the CloutHaus Sales Gallery, the commissioned pieces will be permanently relocated to CloutHaus Residences once the development is completed. Each piece interprets a Chinese character from the residence’s name, 格拉豪斯, as a symbolic expression of the CloutHaus identity:
  • (gé): Represents standard, character, refinement, and distinction, mirroring the elegance, discernment, and elevated benchmark embodied by CloutHaus Residences.
  • (lā): Suggests connection, drawing together, and relational energy, highlighting the development’s role in bringing people, spaces, and influence into meaningful alignment.
  • (háo): Expresses grandeur, confidence, scale, and luxury. It signifies the project’s bold presence and aspirational stature within the KLCC precinct.
  • (sī): Conveys presence, grounding, and a sense of enduring identity, capturing the aim to become a lasting address of belonging, influence, and cultural resonance.
“Calligraphy, at its core, is a language of presence. Every stroke carries intention. My work translates traditional Chinese calligraphy into contemporary abstraction that prioritises emotion and movement,” said Jameson Yap. “I was drawn to CloutHaus Residences for its ambition to shape a space that brings together design, culture, and experience. That intention resonates
deeply with how I approach my work. In each character, I found a reflection of what CloutHaus Residences is reaching toward—refinement, connection, scale, and a sense of permanence.”
Guests also viewed selected works from Jameson Yap’s portfolio and witnessed a live calligraphy performance, offering an intimate look at the discipline, rhythm, and expressive force behind his contemporary practice. It also provided an early glimpse into the curated cultural experiences envisioned for future residents.
Positioned as a cultural and lifestyle hub, CloutHaus Residences is guided by three pillars: gastronomy, health and wellness, and the arts. Through its hotel partner, Paradox Hotels & Resorts, the development will collaborate with local creative talents to curate distinctive experiences that celebrate the local culture and community. This approach emphasises connection, creativity, and a more expressive interpretation of luxury.
Carrying the tagline “The Ultimate Address of Luxury”, CloutHaus Residences is the signature residential component of an upcoming ultra-luxury mixed-use development in Kuala Lumpur, which carries an overall gross development value of RM3 billion. Located on a prime freehold site along Jalan P. Ramlee, opposite the Petronas Twin Towers, the master development comprises two towers of 66 and 58 storeys, integrating high-end serviced residences with Malaysia’s first Paradox Hotel.
As the first tower to launch, CloutHaus Residences will offer extensive lifestyle and wellness facilities, including one of the city’s highest 50-metre infinity sky pools. Residents will also benefit from hotel-grade services and concierge support by Paradox, ensuring a luxury living experience aligned with the development’s positioning.
