About this property
Factory space available for rent at Warehouse Terrace
Numerous pre-war structures line Jalan Ampang. A notable example is the Eng Choon Assembly Hall, constructed in the 1930s. The building's interior was reconstructed to enhance its height from within. In 1935, Eu Tong Sen, a significant figure in the early 20th century, established a villa on Jalan Ampang. This same location was previously used as a military training ground by the British Government. Over the years, the villa underwent renovations and was officially relaunched as the National Art Gallery on 27 August 1958. Eventually, the site transitioned into the Malaysian Tourism Centre (MATIC) Ampang, situated adjacent to the Saloma Bistro Restaurant. Eu Tong Sen also possessed a tin mine in Ampang, notable for being the first of its kind to implement an electric generator in 1914.
In March 1896, the Selangor Turf Club, which hosted horse racing events, was a prime attraction in Ampang until its demolition on 1 March 1997 to facilitate the construction of the Petronas Twin Towers.
