Batu 9 Cheras is small township in Cheras and within the Hulu Langat district in the state of Selangor. It neighbours Taman Suntex, Taman Cheras Permai and Taman Sungai Sering. It is also near to Bandar Mahkota Cheras, Bandar Tun Razak and Sungai Besi townships.
Batu 9 Cheras can be reached via the Grand Saga Highway as well as the Cheras-Kajang Expressway. Public transportation such as buses and taxis are also available options to get around the area. The area is also served by the Taman Suntex MRT station on the Sungai Buloh- Kajang Line.
There is nothing much here, however, Batu 9 Cheras is surrounded by ample amenities such as schools, shops, eateries, entertainment and many more, all of which are within short distances.
The nearest schools within vicinity include SJKC Batu 9 Cheras, Sekolah Kebangsaan Cuepacs,Sekolah Rendah Agama Batu 9 Cheras and Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu 9. For those for would like consider international or private schools the Beaconhouse Newlands International School,Beaconhouse Sri Murni School and Cempaka Schools are also within close distance. In addition, it is a short drive away from USCI University which offers high quality private education at tertiary levels.
As with most townships, there are many clinics and dental clinics in the neighbourhood including Klinik Kesihatan Batu 9, Cheras, a community clinic to serve the basic medical needs of the community. However, for medical emergencies, the nearest hospital would be Columbia Asia Hospital Cheras. The Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia Medical Centre and Specialist Centre are also a short drive away while the Hospital Rehabilitasi Cheras, a government rehabilitation facility is also nearby.
For those who enjoy the great outdoors, Batu 9 Cheras is near to Apek Hill, a popular hiking spot for the locals. Other than that, there are countless parks and playgrounds around the vicinity of Batu 9 Cheras such as Lake Valley, Alam Damai Recreation Park and Bandar Mahkota Cheras Recreation Park.
The community can head to Giant Cheras, 99 Speedmart Cheras Kampung Baru Cina, DD Fresh Meat Retail Shop and Pemborong Runcit NSK Batu 9 for daily essentials and groceries. More supermarkets are available in nearby neighbourhoods.
While there are no shopping malls in Batu 9 Cheras itself, it is surrounded by several shopping malls such as Suntex Shopping Centre,Cheras Sentral Mall, BMC Mall and AEON Mall Cheras Selatan which offers a wide range of retail, entertainment, food & beverage and services shopping experience.
Although the township is small, there are, however, several food establishment in Batu 9 Cheras catering to the dining needs of the community such as Restoran Thoulath Maju, New Lai Fatt Seafood, Tasty Food Corner,Restoran Batu 9 Kopitiam,Gaia Bistro and Restoran Thoiba. If these are not your cup of tea, then head over to neighbouring townships where there are even more food choices that might suit your palate.
In Batu 9 Cheras, there are also several places of worship serving the community’s religious obligations such as 9th Mile Cheras Lutheran Church , Masjid Al-Amin, Church of St Francis of Assisi and Mudun Chinese Methodist Church. There is also the Arulmigu Sri Maha Kaliamman Temple further away.
In the last couple of years, Batu 9 Cheras has seen much developments, due to its locality that is near to the city centre. Land and property value in the area had increased tremendously and many big local developers are clamouring for land in the area. Batu 9 Cheras is a popular place to call home for young adults and young families as it is within close proximity to many conveniences.
