Ayer Itam or Air Itam, most famous for its dam, is located on Penang Island, Penang. Reason why the dam has gained such popularity is because it is the first ever dam to be built in that part of the state. Furthermore, it provides good space around it for recreational activity such as jogging and hiking. The dam is also open for visitors to explore. Other than its beautifully constructed dam, the town is also well known for its Chinese temple named Kek Lok Si.
