Bangsar Food and Nightlife

This neighbourhood is bursting with food, drink and nightlife. Kuriya is a mainstay of Japanese flavours, western food is widely represented by the likes of Yeast Bistronomy and Antipodean Café to name but a few, while popular local favourite the Ming Room offers tasty dim sum treats and Cantonese cuisine.

It’s also worth checking out hip rooftop venue Mantra Bar in Bangsar Village 2 if you want a late night vibe with a view.

For those on the hunt for some daytime treats, APW Bangsar is a great local space with a creative outlook to enjoy food, fun, and events in the neighbourhood. It’s home to popular Bangsar café Breakfast Thieves, easily one of KL’s hottest breakfast and brunch spots, as well as PULP specialist coffee house and a range of other eateries.

Bangsar Healthcare

Bangsar benefits from excellent connectivity to local hospitals. Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur is a conveniently located 331-bed multidisciplinary private hospital, located on the south side of the Bangsar neighbourhood.

The nearest public hospital can be found at University of Malaya Medical Centre, a 1,200-bed hospital located just a short drive south from Bangsar. Hospital Kuala Lumpur, the main hospital serving the city, is also accessible from the neighbourhood. This 2,300 bed multidisciplinary hospital is a short 15-20 minute drive from Bangsar to the north of KLCC.

As well as these two large and established hospitals, Bangsar is also home to a number of small clinics and hospitals such as Bangsar Medical Centre, Mahameru International Medical Centre, and various other clinics and specialist wellness outlets throughout the neighbourhood.

Bangsar Places of Worship

Bangsar is served by Saidina Abu Bakar As Siddiq Mosque, located on Jalan Ara. This is a popular place of worship for the local Muslim community, and as a result visitors and residents should expect significant congestion nearby, particularly around Friday prayer time.

Bangsar also enjoys relatively convenient access to Malaysia’s National Mosque. This iconic structure boasts room for over 15,000 worshippers, and offers a beautiful location in the heart of Kuala Lumpur.

Arulmigu Sri Ramalinga Eeswarar Temple is a focal point of worship for the local Hindu community, conveniently located on the southeast side of Bangsar, between it and the Brickfields neighbourhood. Sri Kondaswamy Kovil Temple in the Brickfields neighbourhood is another popular place of worship.

Thean Hou Temple presents a beautiful local temple for worshippers of Buddhism, enjoying stunning views and a serene atmosphere from its position on Robson Heights, just a short drive from downtown Bangsar. Nearby Buddhist Maha Vihara, found in Brickfields, is another popular place of worship for the local Buddhist Theravada community.

The local Christian community enjoys access to churches of different denominations throughout the neighbourhood. Bangsar Lutherian Church, Bangsar Gospel Center, and St Peter’s Church are just a few of the Christian churches within the neighbourhood.
