Net lettable area is approximately 468,792 sqft with a total number of 170 fashion outlets, restaurants and other lifestyle stores to skim through. As at 30 June 2019, committed occupancy rate at the mall is at 92.6% and a shopper’s traffic of 7.4 million for 2018.Currently owned by CMMT, 3 Damansara is the result of a RM40 million upgrade from its former identity along with improvements including the reconfiguration of retail space on the Ground Floor and Levels 1 and 2 to facilitate the trade mix and enhance the quality of tenants.
The main anchor for the mall is AEON Big, a subsidiary of Japanese retail company, AEON Group while other anchors include Toys R Us, Borders Bookstore and Golden Screen Cinemas as the main cinema. Some of the new dining options include extended hours al-fresco style restaurants, such as The Piazza, and the new F&B cluster located between the mall and the office block like the Korean restaurant and bar Powerplant, Yakitori Kurenai, Brussels Beer Cafe, S’mores Bar and Restaurant and more, including Malaysia’s first homegrown gourmet food hall called Oliver Gourmet.
The mall is equipped with 24-hour security that also are able to escort guests to their cars at any time. There is a mother’s room, ATMs, information desk for clear directions, money changer, prayer rooms for devout guests to perform their daily prayers, a full service hair salon, printing services and a 24-hour convenience store.
Tropicana City Mall Launching Details
Unfortunately, there are limited information available in regards to the initial launch of Tropicana City Mall as this commercial property has been around since 2009.Most recent update with regards to Tropicana City Mall is that it was sold to CapitaMalls Malaysia Trust (CMMT) for RM540 million in cash, including Tropicana City Office Tower. CMMT and Tropicana City Sdn Bhd entered into a conditional sale and purchase agreement in January 2015. The real estate investment company, in its exchange filing on 24 January 2015, noted the proposed acquisition is subjected to completion of a due diligence exercise, which included a building audit and valuation exercise. The proposed acquisition was completed by the third-quarter of 2015. The mall has since re-branded to 3 Damansara in 2018 after some refurbishments.
