Cheras is a town and district, straddling both the Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat District in Selangor state. Cheras is also located to the south-east of downtown Kuala Lumpur. Its is adjacent to Ampang to the north and Kajang to the south, both which are major town within the metropolitan area of Greater Kuala Lumpur. Cheras was believed to be founded in the end of 1876 and its original name was Teras as when the villagers were cutting the wood from the “Teras” tree. The reason to put “Teras” is because the wood is hard and strong. Therefore, the meaning It brings is that they want their relationship to be as strong as that. But that is the history of this wonderful place. Just as other cities, Cheras is also well developed already and it is very close to many places and has its own uniqueness.

Cheras is similar to other place when it comes to talking about transportation as this place is filled with abundant transportation facilities. If one is to travel to Kuala Lumpur city, it would take less than 15 mins to reach you destination. The same goes for travelling to Ampang it would take less than 10 mins to reach by driving.
