Said to be the tallest building in Mount Austin, Havona, the residential component of this hotel- three-storey mall-residential mixed development, looks set to be the next landmark in Johor Bahru.
There are six blocks to 36-storey Havona, offering 1148 units in total. Towers A and A1 have 198 and 197 units respectively, B has 160 units, C and C1 have 198 and 197 respectively and Tower D has 198 units.
The units themselves offer eight floor plans, actually there are only four main types as the rest are mirror units. Unit sizes range from 953sq ft (of Type B and B1) to penthouse 2,312sq ft (Type D and D1) with intermediate sizes of 1244sq ft (Type A and A1) and 1442sq ft (Type C and C1).
Type C and C1 at 1442sq ft are dual key units but the separate section is not a full-fledged unit.
Lifts and Carparks
There are only 6 large-size luxury units per floor (8 for the smallest units, but these are at 953sq ft) and they will be served by 5 lifts ─ that’s almost 1 lift per unit.
Each unit will be given one to two car parks depending on unit type. Those given two car parks will be given one set of double-parking space.

Analysis
Sunray Development Sdn Bhd under the Lian Ak Group, is the developer of Havona Luxury Apartments. The group which began as an aluminum and glass window fabricator in Segamat in 1982 under its chairman Yeo Ann Seck, grew to become the biggest glass and aluminum fabricator with no less than six acres of aluminum and glass factories in the Southern region. Yeo was then appointed non-executive director of the public listed company Ajiya.
The company then began diversifying and its first foray into property development under the Lian Ak Group Property Division was 150 acres of mixed-use development in Kluang. With successful completion of the project in 2000, the company grew to become the leading developer in Southern Malaysia with over 500 acres of landbanks in Johor Bahru, Segamat, Kluang, Tangkak, Yong Peng, Endau and Melaka.
By 2008, a total of 1500 units of residential and commercial project were completed. The following year, the company set its sights on Taman Mount Austin and by 2010, successfully sold over 1200 units of double storey terrace houses in L.A. Garden@Mount Austin with a GDV of RM400m.
