As you move along this road, there is a large football field behind the school. Nestled behind Dua Menjalara are mainly landed properties comprising of double-storey terraced houses.
This residential high-rise is situated in close proximity to Tesco Hypermarket (No. 3, Jalan 7A/62A), which is only a 5-minute drive away. The nearest commercial and business centre is located in Bandar Sri Menjalara. You’ll also find the Menjalara Community Centre there.
Then, there’s also the huge self-contained community of Desa ParkCity, where you can either shop at AEON store, dine and walk, jog, or cycle at the lake-fronting Central Park. Other open-park options include Menjalara Lake Garden and the Kepong Metropolitan Lake and Garden.

Immediate residential neighbourhoods to Bandar Menjalara include Desa ParkCity, Taman Bukit Maluri, Kepong Baru, and Metro Prima, Kepong. Kepong already has 2 KTM Commuter stations – Kepong and Kepong Sentral. Expected to be completed by 2021 will be three proposed MRT Line 2 stations at Kepong Sentral, Metro Prima, and Kepong Baru, which is operated under the MRT Sungai Buloh-Serdang-Putrajaya Line 2. According to an article published by Star Metro, the MRT Line 2 will help to reduce the number of vehicles along Jalan Kepong by as much as 25,000.
Due to the high population residing in these areas, Jalan Burung Hantu is constantly jam-packed during peak hours. Jalan Kepong Baru, which is connected to both Jalan 1/62B and Jalan Burung Hantu, is fringed by restaurants, food stalls and fruit stalls. You will also find a huge commercial hub towards the end of Jalan Kepong Baru – from jewellery shops, to laundry services, coffee shops, and family-run bakeries, car workshops to private clinics. There isn’t much lacking in a thriving neighbourhood like Kepong Baru.
Dua Menjalara is also nestled less than 5 minutes’ drive away (without traffic jam) from Petaling Jaya, where 1Utama Shopping Centre (home to TGV Golden Cinemas and Golden Screen Cinemas), IKEA, The Curve and eCurve are located. To get to these places, you’ll need to go through the toll plaza and pay RM2.10 per way. However, this is a highly popular route to get from Bandar Menjalara to Petaling Jaya. That is why taking this route during a rush hour is a bad idea. There will be a long queue, plus waiting time at the toll plaza.
The alternative venues for shopping include AEON Metro Prima Store and Shopping Centre (Jalan Metro Prima) and AEON Taman Maluri.
