TTDI Segaris, which has “a gross development value of RM191 mil”, is a single block, 27 storeys serviced apartment. Seventeen out of 27 storeys are residential units. There are altogether 185 units, which starts from Level 10 right up to Level 26. Every floor houses 10 to 11 units. Units are divided into 2 categories, of which 153 are duplexes, and 32 are simplexes.

The duplexes come as compact as 721 square feet, with one(1) bedroom, to as spacious as 1,464 square feet, with three(3) bedrooms. In between there are the 915 square feet duplex, and the 1,249 square feet duplex. The former has 1+1 bedroom and the latter, 2+1 bedroom. On the other hand, the simplexes come in only 2 sizes – 915 square feet, or 926 square feet. And these simplexes feature only 2 bedrooms.

Taman Tun Dr. Ismail is a low profile yet popular affluent residential neighbourhood in the Klang Valley. This popularity is due in part to its close proximity to both the Kuala Lumpur city centre as well as Petaling Jaya.

TTDI Segaris is located within a 2-kilometre distance to two MRT1 stations namely Taman Tun Dr. Ismail and Bandar Utama. The closest high-rise residential building is Sinaran TTDI. The rest are bungalows and double-storey terrace homes.

Nestled in Taman Tun’s busiest commercial area of Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad (within walking distance to the neighbourhood’s post office to be exact), TTDI Segaris is a singular tower which stands 27 storeys high. Every Sunday, the Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad area will be lined with stalls for the night market. The night market used to be huge, yet today it has shrunk in size as an increasing number of supermarkets and hypermarkets such as Hero Market at TTDI Plaza on Jalan Wan Kadir 3, AEON Big inside Tropicana City Mall, AEON supermarket and Cold Storage in 1 Utama Shopping Centre, and Tesco Extra at Mutiara Damansara has somewhat blown away the livelihood of these private small-scale sellers.

The closest highway to TTDI Segaris is Jalan Damansara, which is directly connected to both the LDP and SPRINT highways. The Damansara-Puchong Highway or (LDP) leads to places as far as Puchong and Bandar Sunway whereas the SPRINT Highway links residents in this area to the Kuala Lumpur city centre. KPJ Damansara Specialists Hospital (DSH) fronts Jalan Damansara and is only a short distance away.

TTDI Segaris is only among a limited number of high-rise residential projects in Taman Tun, which is largely a landed property residential community. Most of its local residents have lived here for generations and may continue to do so mainly due to its proximity to both Petaling Jaya and Kuala Lumpur.

In terms of amenities, although there aren’t any shopping malls in this neighbourhood, there are plenty of them in neighbouring Bandar Utama which is home to one of Asia’s largest shopping malls – 1 Utama Shopping Centre which boasts a gross built up area of 5 million square feet!

Soon to rival this much-frequented shopping destination by Klang Valley’s folks will be Empire City Mall by Empire Mammoth Group under the Empire City development (which fronts Damansara-Puchong Highway) and is located opposite Damansara Perdana. Then there is also Mutiara Damansara, where IKEA, Tesco Extra and the IPC Shopping Centre are located.

Damansara-Puchong Highway is notably the only highway in the Klang Valley with the highest number of shopping malls.

KL Sentral, Malaysia’s biggest transit hub with connecting links to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), and KLIA 2, as well as Kuala Lumpur’s central railway station, is a 15 minutes’ drive from Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.

The Subang Skypark Terminal, where domestic flights (such as Malindo Air and Firefly) take off and land, is 20 minutes by car from Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.

TTDI Segaris is strategically located in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, which is a prime residential address in Kuala Lumpur. Compared to Bandar Utama, Mutiara Damansara, and Damansara Perdana, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail has the lowest density in terms of the number of properties and population.

Although there are rapid major developments going on around it, Taman Tun Dr. Ismail still maintains its laid-back charm and its residents, a sense of kinship towards one another. The entrance of TTDI Segaris to join in the limited number of high-rise residential developments in this predominantly landed residences community will no doubt bring in more traffic into the already packed commercial area of Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad. But it is, after all, good for business, and will bring in even more attention to this relatively family-oriented neighbourhood.
