Project Details
8 Conlay is among the crème de la crème properties that has been the talk among property moguls and aficionados. It is hailed as one of the most expensive properties in Kuala Lumpur. Reaching the height of RM 3,200 psf., many are looking forward to witness the end result of this ambitious undertaking.
8 Conlay will be redefining what lifestyle should be, given the project being executed in an impeccable manner- luxurious ambiance, life being catered for and most importantly, prestigious.
8 Conlay is massive in size and concept. It is consists of YOO8’s serviced residences at Tower A, Kempinski’s maiden hotel and residences in Malaysia and a lifestyle retail quarters.Tower B is yet to be determined.
Obviously, 8 Conlay aims at challenging the current existing infrastructures surrounding Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Bukit Bintang. If you are aiming to make it big, you got to stick out like a sore thumb especially in the heart of this metropolitan city.
Kempinski will be offering its hospitality services and at the same time managing its own hotel and residences
The structure of 8 Conlay is inspired by the Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang as opposing forces serve to complement one another. Based on Yin and Yang’s idea of balance, the buildings are designed as an interplay of convex and concave forms that is also a reflection of the number eight (8), which is apparently the address of the development itself, 8 Jalan Conlay.
We have truly grasped the overall concept of 8 Conlay, let’s now narrow down the attention to YOO8 and how it could stand above the rest in this ultra-competitive yet lucrative serviced residential market. Besides being a game changer with its physical appearance, YOO8 is also providing services from Europe’s oldest and legendary hotel group, Kempinski. Started in 1897, Kempinski is renowned for its superior and prestigious hospitality services around the world. Do expect sublime quality of services while living in this posh residence. Services include valet services, 24-hour security system, concierge services, doorman & porter and 5-star ala carte services.
YOO8 has been opened for booking and 70% of the units have been reserved. And 80% of the reservations are made by Malaysians, surprisingly.
In general, YOO8’s Tower A has five types of unit – Type A, B, C, D and E. The units’ designs are based on nature, primarily themed after water and wood.
Type B is sized from 742 to 771 sq.ft. and has 1+1 bedrooms . The emphasis of these units are spacious master bedrooms as they provide luxurious comfort along with grand baths. Its interconnection between the master bedroom and bathroom via a sliding door represents the fluidity of water as they connect seamlessly together. These units do come with an extra living space. It can be made into a study room or a guest room. Generally speaking, water based units are made with an open planned space in order to highlight its water like flow within the units. Meanwhile, colours are based on lighter palates with softer shapes.
A bolder approach… The master bedroom has a strong emphasis on warmer and richer colours as well as strong textures
Type C starts from 932 sq.ft. to 1, 086 sq.ft. and mostly consists of two bedrooms. Both master bedroom and second room are interconnected with baths respectively. Meanwhile, there is a powder room for guests visiting the residents in these units. Type C’s interior design is massively influenced by wood, as evident through the bedrooms’ wallpapers and interior colours that are darker, warmer and richer.
Type E is the largest unit at 1, 308 sq.ft. with three bedrooms. As residents enter the unit, they will be greeted by an elongated hallway that leads them to an open dining and living area. There are no dividers in these units to compartmentalise the space. All rooms are adjacent to one another and each room is connected to a bath. Plus, there is a powder room for guests located at the entrance of the unit. The layout makes the units long and extremely spacious.
Location
Jalan Conlay isn’t your regular street in Kuala Lumpur. This is the heartbeat of KL where all the attractions and tourist’s fixations are located nearby The postcode itself is enough to justify why properties here are expensive. Buyers and tenants should be ready to fork out a large sum of money to own a property or even to stay here.
As highlighted before, Jalan Kia Peng, Jalan Stonor and Jalan Conlay are forming the most elite residential area where developers are queuing up to build and develop high-end residential properties that only the rich, royals and famous could afford to purchase.
With the grand construction of 8 Conlay that includes YOO8’s serviced residences, Kempinski Hotel & Residences and a lifestyle retail quarters, Kuala Lumpur’s façade will once again be challenged and revolutionised given its majestic built that consists of three distinctive towers with at least 50 storeys high. It is a tall order to prove the worthiness of this project and the sum of money pumped into it but without a doubt this will be a game changer to the property market here.
Jalan Conlay is located in the centre of town. Thus, commuting shouldn’t be an issue as public transportations as in busses, shuttles and taxis are all around. Most major roads are interlinked with each other. Residents would be able to reach the establishment by using Persiaran Stonor and Jalan Kia Peng from Jalan Tun Razak via driving, if you feel like skipping the jam on Jalan Sultan Ismail and Jalan Bukit Bintang. Nonetheless, residents could just hop on the trains at the existing monorail line at Bukit Bintang Station or even walk via covered walk away through Pavilion towards the KLCC LRT Station. It doesn’t hurt to walk, does it?
The amenities here are like a pot of gold. You can’t go wrong by residing here if shopping is your passion. Pavilion is literally minutes away by foot. From there, residents will be able to extend their shopping spree at places such as Fahrenheit 88, Starhill Gallery, Sungai Wang and even Low Yatt Plaza. In fact, why would residents even leave their home when there is a mall right within 8 Conlay’s premises. Hopefully, the boutiques would be of a high-end quality, in order to fit in the prestigious status of the property.
This is the area for tourists and hotels are sprouting everywhere! 8 Conlay’s neighbour is currently the newly rebranded Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel and Residences, which replaced Prince Hotel and Residence.
Meanwhile, The Royale Chulan Hotel is merely kilometres away. What would be another grand splendour of the area is the soon to be Harrods Hotel, the first of its kind in the world. And perhaps a Harrods mall to be attached to it? It would be an ideal and tempting proposition for the residents of 8 Conlay as one could always benefit from the idea of having the world’s famous shopping chain right at their doorstep. The development is said to be completed in 2018. Then again, heard it through the grapevine that the status of the hotel has recently been in a limbo due to a fallout. Fingers cross, folks! You’ll never know if it could be back on track in the future.
There is no doubt there will be a couple of unpleasant sights and sound. Smacked right in the middle of everything, please embrace yourself with the bottleneck jams especially during the peak hours of morning rush and lunch break as well as the evening madness where people will be rushing home from work. There are even jams from dusk til dawn especially on Friday nights and the weekends!
Constructions are now endless and they are almost everywhere in this part of town. The high frequency of heavy vehicles rushing in and out of the area is indeed a hassle and a major headache.
8 Conlay is not the only development being built rigorously at the moment. As mentioned, the proposed and rumoured Harrods Hotel is bound to rise along with a couple of other residential properties that include Pavilion Suites Kuala Lumpur, The Peak @ KLCC, The Grid, The Manor and Stonor 3 that are all located within close proximity.
The roads are muddy and unlevelled due to damaged done by these heavy vehicles at the current moment. Let’s hope that the roads located in front of 8 Conlay would be repaired and expanded in order to create a smoother traffic flow. In a nutshell, we do hope all of these madness and chaos would come to an end by 2020. And only by then, the residents could easily enjoy the splendour and greatness of the ‘it’ area of Kuala Lumpur!
