As a buyer, do i need to pay any agent fees when buying property in KL?

Hello. Our professional board (www.lppeh.gov.my) allows sellers or buyers to hire the services of the real estate agency to either sell or rent out their properties (by owners and landlords) or find a suitable property (for tenant or buyer) respectively. Having said that, most of the real estate services are hired by the owners or landlords to help them promote and advertise the properties for sale or rent; hence the professional fee is already agreed to be paid by the the owner or landlord. If a buyer responds to any of these advertisements, the buyer does not need to pay any agency fee as the agent is already retained and paid by the principal client.
However, some tenants or buyers may engage the services of the agent to find an off market property which is difficult to get and pay the agreed professional fee. the fee is guided by the standard structure provided by our professional board www.lppeh.gov.my
