You need to be vary of the type of property you intend to purchase and the timing of purchase if you are looking forward to enjoy the stamp duty exemption for first time house buyers buying properties up to RM1 million value. It may only be applicable to newly launched properties from developers and purchase done within the first 6 months until June of 2019. It does not matter whether it is through an agent or not. Please clarify with your lawyer.
