Hello, There were three siblings who were on the title deed of a property in Malaysia which belonged to my brother. We are signing the property over to my brother. His lawyer has been asking for my US passport. I made a pdf copy of my passport and sent it to my brother. My brother made a copy and delivered it to his lawyer. But the lawyer said that the Land Office in Malaysia would not accept a scanned copy. Why is it so and why are they asking me to make a copy and put in a mail to be sent via the postal department?

Your lawyer should be able to advise which document format the land office requires, for example, a certified true copy by the Consular of Malaysia in the US which the physical document needs to be delivered back to Malaysia. Good luck! Best wishes, JoyLand Properties (E(3)0743). Read More
