The current guidelines for Foreigners to purchase/invest in properties in Malaysia is as follows: a) for Properties in Kuala Lumpur the minimum Purchase Price must be RM 1 Mil and above. b) for Properties in the state of Selangor, the minimum Purchase Price must be RM 2 Mil and above. Normally Banks will approve between 50% to 60% of Purchase Price. However for Foreigners with MM2H(Malaysia My 2nd Home) the margin of financing may be higher unto 70% - 80%, depending on the guidelines of each particular Bank. Banks also tend to be more flexible with Foreigners who are gainfully employed with MNCs(Multi National Companies) I hope the above info would be of some help to you.
