Hi, I hope anyone can help me on the below issue I am facing. My company is looking for an apartment to rent for our sales manager to stay at Seberang Prai area. My Sales manager, Mr. Alvin has approach an agent and has visited the apartment unit. When they talk about the terms and payments, Alvin found out that the agent is demanding for 1 month as rental commission from both parties. When Alvin ask him why tenant need to pay commission to him, he said this is Penang law and "usual" practice. I am wondering is this mandatory under Penang Law that tenant needs to pay rental commission of 1 month. Kindly advice.
