Hi, I'm a tenant want to rent a condominium in jb for 2 years, 2300 monthly. What I'm told off is I got to pay the upfront payment as mentioned below. Can anyone please advice me whether is it correct? Thank you.

1/2 month utility deposit 1150

Yes. For residential tenancy the security deposit is 2 months rental, utility deposit is half month rental (although some owners may collect 1 month rental if the half month amount is too low), first month rental in advance and stamping fee (RM212) & admin. charge for the tenancy docs. The security deposit and utility deposit are refundable at the end of the tenancy provided there are no outstanding payments due from the tenant.
