Hi Mr.Howard,
A foreigner can buy residential properties including landed properties above RM500,000 in value in Malaysia except Malay Reserved and bumiputra units. In Penang Island the threshold is RM1 million. A foreigner can also borrow loans from 50% to 70% of the value from banks in Malaysia subject to the borrowers eligibility.
