I got a friend was encounter a suspected unregistered real estate negotiator on a rental deal. The agent claim himself is the owner appointed agent for the unit, persuade my friend to go on the deals without a proper rental booking form. The agent claims will help my friend settle all the unit defects from owner before move in and urge my friend to pay an advanced booking rental of 1000 direct to owner account. When my friend paid the booking and pay a visit to the premise end up all defects is not done and only finds out from agent that the owner wants tenant to bear all the defects cost by their own. We have searched the agent info in LPPEH website unable to get any info on it. And now the Owner is accusing my friend for breach of contract and intend to forfeit my friend 1000 booking rental money. But my friend didn't sign on the agreement which is ready by the agent yet. Is there anyway to file a complaint on the unethical agent and owner on this case? Anyway to chase back the booking rental that refuse to return from the owner?

Always advice all booking fees must bank in to agency client account, not to any individual person account. And must sign valid offer letter to secure the deal. Read More
