Im a singaporean who bought a property(condo) in Johor Bahru in 2013.
I was not aware that I was able to find my own lawyers to assist me with SPA and application etc at that time.
Years went by and I realise there was something amiss with the documents
Eg:SPA was signed 2 months after the purchase offer.
As for the state fees which foreigners have to pay,I was quoted RM10,000 in 2013.However,some property advice website said that state fees was only effective from 2014 onwards and for properties above RM1000000.Is that true ?
Its extremely to dig out information in 2013 and do you know of any websites or forums I can ask ?
I would want to get certain things clear before considering a claim etc.

You may consult the National house buyer association, www.hba.org.my or the Real Estate and Housing Developers’ Association Malaysia, www.rehda.com
The previous levy was RM10,000 for foreigners purchasing a property in Johor. In 2014 is was increased to 2% of the purchase price and the purchase price must be RM1 million and above. (except for certain projects which have applied for exemption from the threshold criteria). Read More
