In 2014, Malaysia has increased the minimum buying threshold amount from RM500K to RM1mil for foreigners. My agent told me that I (a foreigner) can still buy a new launch unit above RM500K at Johor bahru because developer bought the land before this rule. Is this true ? So, if I sell this unit in the future, does the next foreigner who buy my unit needs to meet the minimum RM1mil requirement ? thanks.
