Recently I paid an advance rental deposit for a shop rental. Before the deposit payment, the agent has promised that I will get 1 month free renovation period. However on the day to finalize the tenancy agreement, the agent and the owner changed their mind and gave us 2 weeks renovation period instead of 1 month as promised. I decided not to rent the shop anymore as it is totally unfair to me and I do not trust them anymore. The deposit was directly bank into the owner's account as advised by the agent. Now the owner and the agent refused to pay back the deposit and the agent's company refused to take any responsibility on their agent as the money was deposited into the owner bank account. Anything that I could do to get back my money? I have also made a police report on the owner and the agent
