We have paid the so called deposit to secure a unit early May21 and start renting on Jun’21.however We are in Johor and the property we wish to rent in Subang. Government announce MCO start on 1st June. We are seeking owner to extend until we can cross state or refund the deposit if can’t wait for us. The owner forfeit our money without a reason. We have told the owner sincerely that we definitely will rent the property just that we can’t cross state now. Since owner not willing to extend, he or she have to refund the deposit right? Cos in this situation is because of MCO without our control. How can just 100% forfeit the deposit. Can I get the professional advice? (The owner refuse to answer our call and just want forfeit the deposit without any reason)
