Our profession is governed by the Board of Valuers, Appraisers & Estate Agents Malaysia under the purview of the Ministry of Finance. All practicing agents and agencies are registered with the Registrar. Those who are have not renewed their practicing license, blacklisted or suspended will be deregistered. Please check out their website www.lppeh.gov.my for legal agency. The Board only recognizes licensed agents only. Sales negotiators hired by the licensed agents will be the responsibility of the principal or directors of the licensed agency. We are required to have a professional imdemnity insurance to cover any professional negligence. There are a few ways to check on the reliability and quality of the agency:
1. The type of office they operate from
2. Talk to the principals/directors and you
will be able to gauge whether they are
always contactable to carry out their
responsibilities.
3. Their years of experience and their track
record with clients.
4. Always ask a friend or customer to refer
their preferred agent or negotiator and
verify steps 1 to 3.
