Penang Island has been a most sought-after vicinity after Kuala Lumpur and adored by many due to its tranquil setting amidst Mother Nature’s embrace.
The island is fenced by greenish-blue sea water, bestowing a stress-free environment for its residents, besides being a famous tourist destination in Malaysia.
Well-known for its hereditary features, Georgetown in Penang is well-preserved as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites.
While Georgetown is famed for its hereditary traits, Seri Tanjung Pinang, on the other hand, is well-recognised for being an affluent neighbourhood. There is a myriad of high-end developments from landed to high rise.
“Penang is a 297 sq km island which mostly consists of hilly ranges that cannot be developed. This results in scarcity of land, especially at prime locations,” says Eastern & Oriental Bhd head of marketing and sales (Penang), Christina Lau.
Located in line with Batu Ferringhi, Tanjung Bungah and Gurney, the notable tourist hotspots in Penang, Seri Tanjung Pinang is also visited by many due to its serene setting facing the picturesque Andaman Sea. This area partly consists of reclaimed lands.

The face behind the success
Christina Lau, the head of marketing and sales in Penang, has been attached to E&O Bhd for the past eight years. E&O Bhd is a developer with a proven track record and a strong branding in the property development sector.
“I have been in the property industry since the 90s and I count it as a privilege to be a part of the first and largest seafront development in Penang. It is something aspirational yet achievable,” she adds.
A large number of expats are choosing Penang as their preferred place for their Malaysia My Second Home (MM2H) programme. Today, Seri Tanjung Pinang is a matured residential enclave with more than 20 nationalities.
‘Location! Location! Location!’ is a famous verse that everyone should follow when choosing a property, whether for one’s own stay or for investment, she added further.
According to Christina, Penang is the leading state in Malaysia in terms of economic performance and due to the constant initiatives by the Penang state government, it will continue to flourish.
