There is nothing more spirit-reviving than quaint neighbourhood cafés.

We can all agree that 2020 has shaken us up, so it is not all too surprising that we often mentally travel across districts and sanctioned borders to our favourite flat whites and sourdough breads scattered throughout Klang Valley.

Indeed, we honestly did not know what we love until they are out of reach! 😛

Prior to CMCO, we have had the chance to explore some of the best café spots in eight different Klang Valley neighbourhoods (with masks on and sanitisers in hand, of course).

If you live in any of these districts, then the CMCO is a good time for you to appreciate your ‘hood by visiting these cafés and supporting local businesses.

If you don’t, there is no harm in fantasising about the ambience you’ll enjoy and food you’ll devour in these locations once we can cross into different postcodes again. Check out some favourite café spots below!

*Editor's Note: Opening hours of these cafés are accurate at time of writing (CMCO period).

Located a stone’s throw away from Petaling Street, Wildflowers KL* is the place to go for some after-shopping coffee or late lunch.

What’s striking about this café is its uniform aesthetics of black and white contrasts, with pops of leafy green here and there.

Its menu features East-meets-West fusion dishes that are equally Instagram-worthy, so go wild with your taste buds here!

Opening hours: Tues, Wed & Thurs (12pm-10:30pm) | Fri, Sat & Sun (12pm-12am)

Cacao is clearly the star of Seniman Kakao’s menu. Their ethically-sourced Malaysian chocolate bars, desserts and drinks are especially to die for.

Still, we also cannot stop fawning over the joint’s more savoury dishes like their Squid Ink Pasta with sambal balado and barramundi rice bowl.

The street on which the café sits is narrow, so the best way to get here is via Grab. But if you really must drive, then park your car at the adjacent lot that’s just a few steps away.

Opening hours: 8:30am to 4:30pm daily
Location: 29, Jalan Pudu Lama, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur
Telephone: +603 7490 7788

It’s not easy to miss Feeka when you cruise along Jalan Mesui, the understatedly chic street in Changkat Bukit Bintang.

For one, there is the massively greenery-filled façade that other establishments in the same row do not possess. Then, there is also the fact unlike the other places there, the joint is evidently not a bar.

Light, easygoing, and beautifully unassuming, Feeka is best known for its homely coffee range and baked goods.

Opening hours: 8am to 11pm
Location: 19, Jalan Mesui, Bukit Bintang, 50200 Kuala Lumpur
