Malaysia’s East Coast Rail Link (ECRL) is an exciting mega-project that has been the source of intense debate and planning over recent years.
The project was originally launched in 2016 with the intention of providing a modern rail network, connecting the major urban and business centres of Klang Valley in the west, with more rural areas of northeast Malaysia bordering Thailand.

The ECRL project will stretch from Port Klang in the west of Peninsular Malaysia, all the way up to Kota Bharu in the northeast, connecting the states of Selangor, Pahang, Terengganu, and Kelantan.
