Kedah is located in the north-western part of Peninsular Malaysia. The state consists of the mainland and Langkawi – an archipelago of 104 islands in the Andaman Sea, most of which are uninhabited. Some of the notable traditional songs and dances include Tarian Cinta Sayang, Lagu-lagu Berendoi and Wayang Kulit. Due to its close proximity to Thailand, some of the state’s traditions and food also reflect Thai influence.
