1. Bowery Petit

Bowery Petit is one of the local favourite cafes in TTDI, that presents a different scene from the other cafés in KL with its lower Manhattan vibe and ambience picked up straight from the city of New York. Among some of the cafe’s most popular creations aside from its custard recipes which are all exclusive to Bowery Petit, is its rainbow-colored bagel stuffed with egg filling and presented on a tiny pedestal.

2. Thursdvys

With an eye cast on its interior design and stunning food creations, TTDI presents Thursdvys. Inspired by a Melbourne sports bars with featured slant walls providing a unique experience for patrons, Thursdvys’s passion is at delivering great breakfast menus with amazing coffee to compliment every meal. Favourite breakfast meals include the Baba’s Breakfast and ‘Ben-Addict’ which is reportedly “damned good”. Make sure you come early because their pastries sell out fast!

3. Artisan Roast Coffee

Artisan Roast is a homey café where you can enjoy your morning coffee amidst a great ambience. Order up many different types of coffees specially brewed on the spot with the right amount of love and dedication. Another lovely thing about Artisan Roast is their freshly made in-house snacks that are impossible to miss if you come by the café. Baked on the spot, Artisan café bakes their signature cakes and pastries fresh every morning.

4. Dotty’s Pastries and Bakery

Dottys caught the public’s attention by creating the donut-croissant (Cronut) fusion. This sinful delight is complemented by a variety of savoury baked goodness such as cakes, doughnuts, brownies and cupcakes. Everything is baked to perfection, and most importantly they are all freshly made. Dotty’s constantly comes up with new ideas for their pastries, so that regular patrons will be able to get a different selection of baked goodies every time.

5. Quartet

After opening for over a year, Quartet has become one of TTDI’s most soulful hangouts. With unique arts and a vibrant music theme, the name Quartet comes from a music background. As a coffee culture shop, visitors will be able to immerse themselves in a jazzy scenario whilst enjoying their coffee and gourmet styled breakfast.

6. Der Backmeister

Known for bringing original German Baking recipes to TTDI, Der Backmeister is loaded with European style breads which are favoured by many. It is the go-to place for breakfast and pastries in TTDI. Being such a family friendly place where everyone feels at home, the café provides breakfast menus which are fit for any family. Der Backmeister which also means ‘bake master’ in German, implies that the chefs take their skills seriously!

Pickle and Fig features an interior of modest grey, naked concrete and wood finishings which comes to life in the sunshine. Renowned as a pioneer in the coffee brewery industry, Common Man Coffee Roasters (CMCR) which started out as a small café has taken the next step, and now has their own barista academy and roasted coffee products out for wholesale. It has always been a destination to be if you are crazy for coffee, and a major plus side is their amazing all-day brunch menus! As you step in, you will be welcomed by a line of CMCR merchandise and unique seating places for you to enjoy a sinful cuppa.

5. Aether Cafe

You will be treated with nutritious recipes; which as quoted by some patrons, will be light on your pocket as compared to a similar genre of cafes. Introducing Goodness Greens, a café led by one of KL’s biggest juicing establishments La Juiceria, this cafe packs healthy like no other cafes can. How about spending your lunch with friends at one of TTDI’s most popular spots. Uncle Don’s, who’s motto is “dine like a don everyday,” is a restaurant that is constantly full of surprises. Urban looks with a rustic brick-and-mortar setting and chilled-out design with amazing quality food that’s light on the wallet, this restaurant is created to be bring patrons the best of both worlds. There are seating spaces inside and outside the premises with a very cosy vibe.

2. Chequers

Chequers carries prominence as a cool spot for a fun meal full of savoury and sweet waffles. Since its debut in 2014 their menu has greatly expanded, influenced by contemporary comfort food you would usually find in an American diner. Stuff yourself with yummy chilli poppers, a can’t-stop-munching snack filled with crispy-fried green chilli peppers stuffed with flavourful tuna, or a unique dish called ‘Moo Moo’ which is a waffle burger with sirloin beef patty garnished with cheddar, slaw, relish and crispy bacon.

3. Kayra

Migrating distinctive flavours all the way from Kerala, the stunning coastal state of south-west India, Kayra which carries a long heritage in Kerala cuisine has brought that passion and taste to this new restaurant. Embedded with many grayscale photographs of Kerala, expect a cuisine based on grated and roasted coconuts as the main role player as the name “Kayra” came from the word ‘swaying coconut palms’ in the Malayam-language. On top of that, taste the immensely rich spices infused into the dishes at Kerala.

Turkish delicacy has always been well-known for their colourful and tasty food, especially when there is meat involved! It’s a go-to place if you are a big fan of kebabs or anything with meat on it. With such a succulent Mediterranean taste, this café has many original Turkish delicacies to offer. The decor of this cafe brings patrons back to its homeland, with its simple Turkish décor that focusses on space and comfort.

5. Paperfish

Ever heard of poke bowls? They are the upcoming trend in quick and easy superfood that packs a bunch of nutrition. Paperfish is the leading poke bowl restaurant in TTDI, that gives patrons a choice to create their perfect combination of wholesome scrumptiousness, or pick from a ready made menu. Dining at DC Restaurant by Darren Chin is always a gastronomical restaurant, as the chef will spoil you with many food creations. Unlike typical fancy restaurants that charm patrons with lavish furniture and extravagant décor, DC Restaurant gives patrons a more at-home atmosphere on top of a peaceful ambience with plain walls, a modern yet minimalistic environment, and chefs perfectly orchestrating the dishes with a touch of Thai and Malay influence. With tons of different dishes to choose from, Homst delivers a variation of fried rice, noodles and many other traditional oriental dishes. Humbly owned by Yosoff Lau, Homst Restaurant has been in business for over 10 years. The 10 years has brought many changes and enhancements to their menu, to ensure customer satisfaction. The portions at this restaurant is generous, and additionally, the service at Homst is also commendable. Whether you love poultry, seafood or just plain vegetables, Homst has it all.

3. Auntie Manju’s Original Banana Leaf

Auntie Manju’s started off when one of her son’s best friend loved her home cooking so much, that her son, nephew and friends got together to build a restaurant with Auntie Manju’s recipes as the star of the show. It’s no surprise that with all the succulent dishes and a homely environment, Auntie Manju’s has a regular following and a good number of new visitors. Auntie Manju’s boasts a semi open concept which is a unique selling point being an Indian restaurant.

4. Bedouin Arabian Restaurant
