Sunway Velocity is an integrated mixed development sited on 23 acres of freehold land. The development comprises residential, commercial, office and retail components. Sunway Velocity is developed by Sunway Bhd, and it is designed to bridge the gap among the growing population, which had more than 800,000 people in 2010 when the company began master-planning the development.

When Sunway Velocity Shopping Mall opened in 2016, it became a new landmark in the Cheras area. Then, the 351-room Sunway Velocity Hotel opened in September 2017. In addition to the ready catchment by the tenants of the office towers, the hotel also anticipates visitors from the financial city of Tun Razak Exchange, Bukit Bintang City Centre development, and the Kuala Lumpur city centre.

Sunway College has launched its new campus at Sunway Velocity in 2019, offering full and part-time programmes. The latest to open in the integrated township is SMCV, a comprehensive tertiary care private hospital. SMCV was completed in June 2019.

Sunway Velocity is expected to be fully completed in 2020.

Sunway Velocity TWO

Riding on the overwhelming response to Sunway Velocity, Sunway Bhd launched Sunway Velocity TWO on a 8.5-acre site in Jalan Peel. Sunway entered into a joint-venture (JV) agreement in 2018 to acquire Austral Meridian Property Sdn Bhd, which enabled the group to gain additional leasehold land in Jalan Peel to launch Sunway Velocity TWO. The estimated gross development value (GDV) for Sunway Velocity TWO is about RM2 billion and it will be developed over 10 years. Sunway Velocity TWO will be located diagonally across from Sunway Velocity, and the two developments will be connected by three bridges.

The main difference between the 2 developments is that about 70% of Sunway Velocity TWO will comprise residential units, while three-quarters of the 23-acre Sunway Velocity, are made up of commercial units.

Sunway Velocity Mall – Opened in 2016

Sunway Velocity Mall is a 1.4 million sq ft mall that is visited by an average of 1.1 million visitors per month, and that can increase to up to 1.3 million during festive months. These shoppers are mainly from Cheras and the Klang Valley.

Sunway Velocity Hotel – Opened in 2017

The 351-room Sunway Velocity Hotel opened in September 2017, complementing the mall. The 16-storey mid-market transit-oriented hotel was developed at a cost of RM146 million.

Sunway College @ V Office 1 – Opened in 2019

The new 113,500 sq ft Sunway College at Sunway Velocity will occupy 5 levels, Levels Six to 10 of the V Office. The facilities will open in two phases. The first two levels are currently operational, while the other three will be operational by 2021.

Sunway Velocity is expected to be fully completed in 2020.

Sunway Medical Centre Velocity (SMCV) – Opened in 2019

This a comprehensive tertiary care private hospital which will provide a range of facilities, amenities and services to the Cheras and southern Kuala Lumpur communities. The hospital, was developed at an estimated cost of RM320 million and has a 240-bed capacity, 77 consultation suites, 6 operating theatres, and a catheterisation laboratory. Construction of SMCV began in May 2017 and was completed in June 2019.

Signature 2 Shop Office – Completed in 2018

These offices have direct connectivity to the Central Atrium. Shop sizes range from 1,991 sq ft to 3,848 sq ft, while office sizes range from 1,814 sq ft to 3,364 sq ft.

V Residence 2 – Completed in 2018

This residential development consists of 334 units with a Gross Development Value (GDV) of RM382 million, while its commercial development, Signature Shop and Office, consists of 50 units and 30 units respectively, with a GDV of RM250 million.

 

V Residence 3 – Completed in 2018

This development is also known as V Residence III. There are 411 units, with built-ups from 694 sq ft to 1,405 sq ft.

Sunway Velocity is expected to be fully completed in 2020.

V Residence Suites – To be completed in 2020

The smallest units at V Residence Suites are 624 sq ft with 1 bedroom, and the biggest 1-bedroom unit is 877 sq ft. The largest of the 2-bedroom units is 883 sq ft.

Location

Upon completion of the whole project, Sunway Velocity and Sunway Velocity TWO will be connected to the Maluri, Cochrane and Chan Sow Lin MRT stations. The developer is planning to build a covered bridge across Jalan Cheras to connect Sunway Velocity with the upcoming Chan Sow Lin MRT station, which will also be connected to the existing LRT station.

Upon completion of the whole project, Sunway Velocity and Sunway Velocity TWO will be connected to the Maluri, Cochrane and Chan Sow Lin MRT stations.
