Does a seller has the right to claim water & electricity bulk meter deposit from buyer? My case here is that, upon vacant possession of my first home, seller sent a notice to me asking me to pay for water & electricity bulk meter deposit as the condo management claim that they will not refund the deposit to him and asked him to claim deposit from me instead. Is this even legal? Should the buyer bear such cost which was incurred few years ago?

Your lawyer has to verify the arrangement with the management that the amount and deposit to be paid will eventually belongs to you before you to make any further payments to the seller. Read More
