This new policy although announced in our government's last budget for year 2020 has possibly not been implemented yet due to objections etc. However, the move to lower the threshold for foreigners to buy condominiums and apartments in urban areas from RM1mil to RM600,000 is only applicable to existing unsold units, says Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng. In my opinion, it is only for qualified unsold units which are newly completed but were not purchased by Malaysians. This policy is applicable to the Federal Territory (Kuala Lumpur & Labuan) and other states in Malaysia may have their own policies pertaining to their land matters.
