Hi Guru, I have a potential buyer for a condo but she is not gainfully employed. Getting a loan may be a problem without payslips and what not. She however owns a boutique selling ready made garments. under the circumstances, what sort of documents will help in securing/facilitate a loan

Hi Kalai. From my own experience, the borrower needs to convince the bank that she is able to service the amount of loan borrowed. If self-employed, the business must be at leaast more than 2 years, personal or business bank accounts for 6 months, Income Tax Form B and income tax receipt, fixed deposits are some of those documents required by the bank. The bank will determine her affordability and amount of loan to grant her taking into account her other existing loan payments by instalments, if any. Read More
