Hi. I will rent an apartment I found on property guru yet I didn’t hire any agent. So I don’t understand why I have to pay the professional fee. Isn’t that a fee for the owner to pay? Thank you.
Here’s what I got:
Rental 1 mth: Rm5000
Deposit 2 mths: Rm10, 000
Utility 0.5 mth: Rm2500
Agreement fee : Rm750
Professional fee 0.5mth+ sst : Rm2500+150=2650
Total: RM20, 900

Normaly, the Owner pays the professional (agency) fees while the tenant pays the tenancy agreement fees eg stamping.

My tenancy is 1 year and I didn’t hire any agent. It means the agent doesn’t work for me. The agent works for the owner.

Hi Ms. Anna, I am Ryan from PropNex Malaysia. I want to assist you with your enquires.

If you feel uncomfortable with this arrangement, I strongly suggest that you look for another agent as this is not a normal practice. Unless this has been conveyed to you before by the agent, do clarify with the agent again to check if is there a miscommunication.
