i am quite interested to buy an auctioned bumiputra lot 2 storey terrace house located in Setia Tropika Kempas Johor
Both The S&P and title specified clearly this is a bumiputra lot and can only be transferred to bumiputra .
Can this lot be converted to non bumi lot once I purchase this under auctioned .
I hear many many version of bumiputra lot can be converted ,1) some say all depends on good lawyers
2) some say can take 6 to 10 months
3) the process may take ages to convert , likely to be rejected by the state authority
4) some say don't waste time on bumi lot
5) some even say advertise for sales for at least 3 months , if no bumi buyer , then possible to convert to non bumi
6) some lawyers may say can , and later rejected , then pay high fees for lawyers

Please clarify , this is very very confusing

Thanks

The Government affirmative policy does not allow bumiputra lots to be transferred to non bumiputra to maintain high bumiputera ownership of properties. Our PM has recently reiterated such policy. Don't risk your time, resources and money to go round this policy. the chances of success even if you use runners (bribery) are very slim. The paperwork and rocess are done by a few people before it is tabled to the council headed by the Menteri Besar for official approval. During my 15 years in the real estate, I have not seen nor heard of any successful cases. I have heard many non bumiputras who were caught in this misleading promises. There are so many non bumiputra properties to buy why waste your time, money and effort.
