i have a joint tenancy agreement and the other joint tenant now wants to end the tenancy.
1. Can he end the contract without my consent?
2. If i do not give me consent and the other joint tenant does not pay his rent as a result. Will i lose my deposit for breach of contract (given the owner evicts me for non-payment)?

1. It depends on what is stated in the Tenancy Agreement. The co-tenant has the liberty to decide what he wants to do. However, the Landlord cannot agree to the request of terminating the tenancy agreement without both the tenants joint decision.
