I have fully paid my bungalow house but the lawyer gave me a Hakmilik Sementara title. This property is already 18 years since i purchased. I was told by the developer (under receiveship) to engage my own lawyer to settle the title. Pls advise what is the correct procedure. thank you

Hi NKE,
Your current Hakmilik Sementara is still a valid issue of title document except that it is pending a final land survey before a final title is iisued to you. Usually, if a new and final title is issued by the Land Office they will inform you. Otherwise, you may conduct a search at the relevant Land Office based on your current title deed to find out. If a new title is issued, you may extract an original copy from the Land Office by paying a fee for the new title deed. You may hire the same lawyer to help you conduct and extract a new title deed, if it is issued already.
