I m a Malaysian, has property in Malaysia, I m planning to buy property in overseas, but there is a clause that foreigners can buy local property if there is no property in own country, but I was told that there is no way of finding if someone owns a property in other country. Is it so, pls advice

i heard about this rule if you buy HDB in Singapore. You have to make a declaration to the Govt. I am not sure how they can find out but I do know that we can check transactions at government valuation department in Malaysia as all transactions have to go through a government valuation. Other countries transparency varies from country to country.
