Dear Anonymous, Normally, any costs for repairs or reinstatement (except fair wear and tear) to be borne by the Tenant has to be guided by the following:- 1. The tenant is informed of the repairs and reinstatement that is required (provided it is the tenant's fault). The tenant is given the chance to arrange for the repairs or reinstatement probably at a reasonable cost. 2. If the Tenant cannot do the repairs or reinstatement then the Landlord is at liberty to do them and proof of receipts to be given. 3. If there is a dispute, both parties have to reason them out failing which perhaps a lawyer needs to be engaged to issue letter of demand on your behalf. Hope it gives you clarity.
