I would like to know if the agreement stated one year tenancy and we stay for one year and fulfill the tenancy period, by the time we about to move out, owner request to forfeit one month deposit due to we did not inform them one month in advance, are we at fault? As per the agreement signed, it is stated 'The tenant shall provide at least two (months) prior written notice to terminate this agreement even if the agreement is expired, unless they have breached the agreement. However, the tenancy only ends on the end date of the agreement or the end date of the term basis period(whichever is later)'. My inquiry is are we at fault that we fulfill the tenancy and move out within the period stated but we did not provide one month notice and is it legal for owner to forfeit the deposit for such reason?
